Hello, Stranger 👋

This started as a polished, AI-written bio, but I’d rather tell you a story.

I once wanted to be a DJ. That didn’t work out, but it led me to Barcelona over 20 years ago. There, through a Master’s in Digital Art and OFFF, one of the world’s leading digital creativity festivals, I discovered my passion: experimenting with computers to create something new.

In 2008, I returned to Mexico City and unknowingly founded one of the first studios blending technology, art, and design. Years later, that studio merged into Cocolab, where Alejandro, Alfonso, Pipe, and Carlos and I crafted immersive experiences that connected with people around the world. We failed, we learned, and we built projects in museums, ancient pyramids, festivals, and unexpected places.

Then, in 2021, I took a leap.

After years of leading teams and large-scale projects, I needed to grow. I wanted to push my creative limits, explore new artistic expressions, and challenge myself as an independent designer and artist. Leaving the familiar was terrifying. I feared losing relevance. I feared not traveling anymore. I feared stepping away from the industry I helped shape.

Turns out, fear was wrong.

Since then, I have presented my work at the Barcelona Design Museum, collaborated with The Sphere in Las Vegas and Tiffany & Co. in Tokyo, and continued designing immersive experiences at InSpace with my friend Gilberto. I also teach at The Interactive & Immersive HQ in Toronto and co-produce OFFFMX, one of Mexico’s leading digital creativity festivals, alongside JC and Manolo.
